Purina® Forage Beet Pulp Plus Pellets, 40 lb Bag
Purina® Forage Beet Pulp Plus Pellets are designed to provide a low starch and sugar roughage option for senior horses and hard keepers of any age who struggle to gain or maintain weight. A beneficial blend of beet pulp and alfalfa helps support body condition and hindgut health. Added rice bran provides calories from fat to help horses maintain weight without excess starch and sugar. This unique formula is appropriate for horses with sensitivities to non-structural carbohydrates and horses with challenges consuming long stemmed forage. EASY-SOAK™ Pellet Technology allows the pellets to soften quickly in water, creating a soft mash that is easy to chew and helps support hydration. Added natural vitamin E provides antioxidant and immune support. Developed by PhD equine nutritionists. May replace up to 50% of the horse’s total forage. Use only as directed.

For horses consuming long stemmed forage, Beet Pulp Plus Pellets may be fed in addition to the regular feed ration. Adjust the amount fed depending on activity level and body condition of the horse.
This product may also be used to replace up to 50% of the total forage in a horse’s diet. Ideally, horses should be fed 1.2 – 2.5% of their body weight in total forage per day. If appropriate, a portion of the horse’s diet should include long stemmed roughage to help reduce boredom and stall vices.
For hydration, aggressive eaters, or for horses with dental concerns, soak pellets in water using a minimum of 3:1 ratio (3 parts water to 1 part pellets). Allow pellets to soak until they reach your preferred consistency before feeding. For best soaking results, soak pellets in warm water (100°F).
