*This is the recommended minimum amount of hay to be fed. If feeding more hay, reduce the feeding rate of Miniature Horse and Pony feed by 0.5 pound for every pound of additional hay feed. Example: Using the chart above, if feeding 7 pounds instead of 6 pounds of hay to a 500-pound light working pony, reduce Miniature Horse and Pony feed offered by 0.5 pound from 3.3 to 2.8 pounds per day.
**Do not feed less than 0.3 pound per 100 pounds of body weight per day. Example: A 200-pound miniature horse has two 100-pound increments (200 divided by 100 = 2). So for this horse, do not feed less than 0.6 pound per day (2 x 0.3 = 0.6 pound per day). If your horse gains too much weight at that minimum feeding rate, then you should replace Miniature Horse and Pony feed with Enrich Plus® ration balancing feed or WellSolve W/C® horse feed.
***If foal and mare are fed together, increase amount offered by 0.25 pound per month of age (of the foal) per day for miniature horses, and 0.5 pound per month of age (of the foal) per day for ponies.
